November 1st and 2nd, 2018 – Deltaville, Virginia to Hampton, Virginia

Another day of plowing into the wind for 6 hours to get to a haven like Salt Pond Marina Resort.  It was a bit tricky getting into the creek leading into Salt Pond but that is where AquaMaps comes in handy.  Upon arrival, Wendy and Cory, got us all situated at the dock. It turns out that Wendy is also a canvas repair person.  She came onboard and helped us get the canvas all snapped and secure so it wouldn’t flap in the wind. The canvas had been removed for protection from the threat of hurricane Florence then it was up to us to figure out how to get the pieces back together.  There were a couple of loose places that the wind had found.

Although we are on the fast track to arrive back in Florida by early December, we chose to stay a second night due to impending storms, take a much needed day to breathe, take care of chores on the boat, and laundry.

Our navigating skills improve each day as we work together for what has proven to be a challenging yet exciting adventure at this time in our lives.
