Spent a buggy night at the Buck Island anchorage. The bugs didn’t bite but they were a nuisance. We were able to kill them but they left a black mark which we spent a lot of the next day cleaning. After leaving this anchorage we went south into Abermarle Sound. A lot of southbound sailors are very anxious about the sound but after the Chesapeake, it was a piece of cake. We arrived in the Alligator River Marina in the early afternoon. We filled the water and fuel as well as cleaned the cockpit of all of the bugs. Enjoyed fried chicken and Ann ordered a shrimp po’boy made by the folks at the marina.
Sound sailing then good food!
